From the Producer of Napoleon Dynamite comes this bittersweet comedy about a morbidly overweight dreamer with the soul of a Poet. Working a dead-end job at a strip mall grocery store and unable to pass his driver’s test, Tracy Orbison (Hubbel Palmer) aspires to “Be Somebody,” however, his misguided efforts show he’s not quite sure what that means. Discovering local Z-List actor Truman Hope (hilariously portrayed by William Baldwin, The Squid and the Whale), Tracy enrolls in Truman’s acting classes hoping to befriend him and find inspiration. Disillusioned when Truman’s true character is revealed, Tracy moves on to his next project: a disappointing mission to reform a gang of surly, teenage deadbeats. Despite these setbacks, Tracy never loses his optimism or faith in his beliefs. Charming and full of humanity, you will root for Tracy as he struggles get his driver’s license, lose “about ten pounds” and win fame beyond his working-class job.
