Co-presented by the Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival and Israel consulate
As the State of Israel celebrates it's 60th anniversary in 2008,
the Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival and the Consul General of
Israel, the Northwest Region present a documentary about one of the
most atypical popular figures in its history. Who is Abie Nathan?
The short answer: an Israeli philanthropist, a tireless peace
campaigner and, last but not least, the proud owner of and the
driving force behind the offshore pirate radio station, the Voice of
Peace, that was airing its messages of peace towards the warring
parties in the conflict between Israel and its neighboring countries
from 1973 till 1993. Filmmaker Eytan Harris worked for several years
capturing key episodes in Abie’s colorful life of humanity, music,
and peace in this not-to-miss documentary.
