Get ready for 90 raging minutes exploring the growing problem of hunger in the underdeveloped world from none other than punk poet Henry Rollins! H for Hunger is a hard-hitting humanitarian project, speaking directly to the viewer and inspiring action. It is a spirited and pointed work where Rollins addresses us pointedly and directly; did you know that ethanol is raising the cost of corn by 30% in Mexico?
In the film Rollins sits in nondescript clothes in an empty white room. There are no windows or walls. Behind him images of global poverty are projected. He speaks directly to us through the camera, aggressively and animated, drawing on the walls as his story unfolds. Like an investigative reporter, our protagonist probes into the different aspects of hunger, its biology and history, and its political, legal and economic dimensions. He also addresses the diverse organizations that claim to be dealing with the problem.
The naked face of hunger is revealed for what it is; a horrific, sickening scourge of humanity that could and should be eliminated. Get ready for a slam dance.
